Christine Andreas

hp_christineChristine Andreas is a multiple-award-winning singer/actress and a two-time Tony® Award nominee. Most recently starring on Broadway in La Cage Aux Folles, she first captured theatre-goers hearts in the 20th anniversary production of My Fair Lady as Eliza Doolittle (Theatre World Award), followed by the revival of Oklahoma! as Laurey (Tony® nomination), and the legendary George Abbott’s On Your Toes (Tony® nomination).  She also created the role of Marguerite St Just in The Scarlet Pimpernel.  National audiences will remember her unanimously praised portrayal of Margaret Johnson in the Tony® Award Winning musical, The Light In The Piazza. Her cabaret appearances in New York’s finest rooms and concerts from the White House to Carnegie Hall continue to win Ms. Andreas critical acclaim both nationally and internationally.

In her dazzling new one-woman show, be-Mused, Christine Andreas playfully re-fashions the word to-be-Mused as, “that musical spark that ignites when just the right singer and just the right songwriter collide”. Andreas celebrates some of the greatest collaborations spanning the last century: Arlen & Garland, Jobim & Gilberto, Van Heusen & Sinatra, the Bergman’s & Streisand, Bacharach/David & Dionne Warwick, Monnot & Piaf and more. In a show that left The New York Timethunderstruck,” Christine takes songs that are already incendiary and makes them shine that much brighter.“Her beauty and radiance remain undimmed. Her bright, shiny soprano conveys a high-strung emotionality that is sharpened by her acting skills. The refined pop-jazz arrangements encouraged Ms. Andreas to fly as far and wide as she wished.” The result? “Right tune, right singer: pure alchemy!”
