Glenn Leonard’s Temptations Revue

Reuniting great talents with a shared history to turn back time… Trust me when I say this show isn’t a local tribute act—you will not be disappointed!

Glenn Leonard’s Temptations Revue offers the world’s most authentic, most talented, easiest to work with and most affordable tribute acts to the original Temptations today! Mr. Leonard was the lead high tenor for the Tempts from 1975-83, recording ten albums with them. He has appeared on numerous TV specials worldwide and circled the globe many times over. He’s well-known as the beautiful voice on the internationally famous version of the classic Tempts version of “Silent Night,” and was on the Temptations Reunion Tour and Album. All of the musicians are stand-up talents who have been with the revue for many years; before that they all performed with other national recording groups and were even other former Tempts.

In addition to the world-class vocalists on stage, the show performs with world-class musicians, and there are many configurations available: the group with full band, using the buyer’s provided band, with all five vocalists to backing tracks, or even Glenn performing his well-known Tempts/Motown show solo.

The show is full of high energy and choreography, performing all the hits like only Glenn Leonard can!

Brad Zimmerman is so amusing that he even has other comics laughing out loud. To quote Joan Rivers: “I’ve had three great opening acts in my lifetime: Garry Shandling, Billy Crystal and Brad Zimmerman.” His gifted storytelling is so real that it triggers your imagination—you’ll be both laughing and crying as it stays with you long after the show is over.

Shirley Reeves (Former Lead Singer of The Shirelles)

The Shirelles were the first all-girl group of the rock ‘n’ roll era to score a Number One record. Beginning in 1958 as schoolgirls in Passaic, New Jersey, The Shirelles quickly became rock ‘n’ roll’s first female supergroup and were the inspirations for a legion of female groups that followed.

Universally credited as the originators of the “Girl Group Sound” that is so beloved by the Baby Boomer Generation, their long string of hits includes “Soldier Boy,” “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow,” “Dedicated To The One I Love,” “Mama Said” and so many others, which have been recorded by hundreds of artists, including The Beatles, Dionne Warwick, Aretha Franklin, Eric Clapton & The Yardbirds, The Mamas & the Papas, Bernadette Peters and Smokey Robinson.

Few performers can truly be called trendsetters, fewer still can sustain a high-visibility presence in the pop culture consciousness for over 40 years. Rock & Roll Hall of Fame members The Shirelles have done these things…and more. They have earned their exalted place in modern musical history.

Laurie Miller

Laurie Miller’s professional appearances range from musical theater to lavish revues, intimate jazz clubs and major label recording projects. Miller is known in the industry as one of the original members and creators of the pop-hit group Exposé. Their debut album “EXPOSED” is documented in the Rolling Stone Rock and Roll Hall of Fame history book for having more Top 10 hits than The Beatles or The Supremes had on their debut album.

Laurie is also the CEO and founder of XICA Productions (shee-ka). Known internationally, XICA Productions is acclaimed for creating unique and artistic atmosphere in diverse entertainment venues using unusual entertainers, creative lighting and décor.

Originally from Miami, Florida, Laurie spends most of her time performing on some of the world’s most prestigious cruise lines as well as at corporate events and theatrical productions worldwide.

The Mystics

The Mystics began in Brooklyn, N.Y. in the late ‘50s singing the “Doo Wop” songs that were popular back then. Originally known as The Overons, they signed with Laurie Records and recorded their major hit “Hushabye.” In addition to their own hit records, they provided vocal back-up for several other artists, including Connie Francis on her 1959 release “Tommy.” They appeared on several TV shows in the ‘50s and ‘60s including the Clay Cole Show, Dick Clark’s American Bandstand, Alan Freed’s Big Beat Show and Jim Gallant’s Bandstand.

Although they broke up for a time, the growing nostalgia boom of the early ‘70s resulted in new demands for their performances. An appearance in an episode devoted to Doo Wop music on the PBS series “Soundstage” allowed them to reach a new audience and left an impression among doo wop enthusiasts that lingers still and led to the strength of their comeback.

Jimmy Travis

JIMMY TRAVIS:  One Guy … One Guitar … and a Whole Lot of Laughs!

Trying to describe a Jimmy Travis show is a lot like herding cats – it can be done, but it’s not easy. Jimmy is a master storyteller. His musical style is fun and unique, and since he loves to adlib and interact with the audience, no two shows are ever the same.

As one reviewer put it,”Jimmy Travis took the stage and within minutes made everyone in the audience feel like his new best friend. His material was upbeat and his approach to comedy was refreshing in a day and age when so many comedians lace their shows with profanity.” VARIETY

In addition to his comedic skills, Jimmy is a gifted musician, singer, and songwriter. This combination makes him one of the most versatile performers in the industry today.

The Flamingos

The group sings all their original classics…”I Only Have Eyes For You”, “Lovers Never Say Goodbye”, “Love Walked In”, “Mio Amore” and more. Bruce Smirnoff

Horrifically funny (think Jerry Seinfeld meets Rupert Pumpkin)!

Bruce Smirnoff’s stories are variations on a theme: that of his dogged, almost pathetic determination to hang in there, despite a rich career at failure … until comedy hit.  His cordial, pleasant and unforced manner makes the audience feel as though they know him.

Sarge

Considered a triple threat, Sarge is a mega-talented stand-up comic who can sing in his own voice or launch into a myriad of impressions spotlighting such well-known celebrities as Harry Connick, Sammy Davis Jr … even Kermit the Frog!

Jeff Laub

Jeff Laub is a funny guy.  Some people are tall.  Some people are brilliant.  Some people are beautiful. And some people are naturally funny.  It’s what you are.  It’s what you do.  Lebron dunks, Martha cooks and Jeff Laub makes people laugh.

Jeff is a professional comedian, writer, producer and creative consultant. He’s opened for such stars as Oscar winner Joel Grey, Tony Orlando, Lou Rawls, Hal Linden, Lucy Arnaz, Sally Kellerman and other stars of stage and screen.

His Masters in Speech & Theater and Television Production landed him the best job of his life – working as a Page on the Dick Cavett Show. He soon moved into the game show business, working his way up to Writer and Producer on such shows as “Three On a Match,” “Winning Streak,” “Shoot For the Stars” and the Emmy Award winning “10,000 Pyramid” starring Dick Clark.  The Corporate world beckoned, and soon Jeff became the Number One writer and outside creative consultant for Pepsi-Cola, writing and producing hundreds of speeches, roasts, song parodies and multi-media presentations for sales meetings and bottler conventions all over the U.S. for over 12 years.  But he was tired and New York was cold.  He really had no choice, did he?  Brooklyn…to Long Island…to Florida.  That’s the Appalachian Trail for Jews and Italians.

One of Jeff’s key strengths is his versatility and skill in adapting his style and material to any audience setting.  With his razor sharp wit and ad-libbing ability, he’s received rave reviews whether he’s performing his “R” rated late night comedy club shows or headlining for 2000 senior citizens at an adult retirement community.  Hopefully, you’ll have a chance to catch Jeff’s act soon.  But don’t wait too long.  He hasn’t totally given up on that dental career.

Beatlemaniacs

There are dozens of part-time Beatle cover bands in an over-saturated cover scene. Many claim to be “The Best Beatles Tribute band” or “The Number One Beatles Tribute Band.” Any cover band can recite Beatles songs, so it is fair to ask: What separates The Beatlemaniacs from the rest?

The key is energy and repetition. The Beatlemaniacs have been touring worldwide in concert halls, small venues, casinos, theatres and cruise ships for over 13 yrs. The Beatles toured for roughly five years; their shows only ran 20-30 minutes, so The Beatlemaniacs have performed these songs more than The Beatles themselves–and it reflects in their live performances. The Beatlemaniacs do not tire or skip any details in producing a show with no liberties in reproducing the look and sound of the ‘Fab Four.’ Musically, the fine details come down to the talent of the individual members and chemistry within the group. Energetic and youthful, The Beatlemaniacs polish the sounds of the original Beatles recordings into a performance that delivers the genuine energy of a real live Beatles experience. Most recently, Mark Staycer of  The Beatlemaniacs starred in the John Lennon movie “Let Him Be,” which has been featured at numerous film festivals around the world.

Their reputation in these communities has become so successful that they have decided to branch out to other areas throughout the US at the same type of communities.

Presently procuring engagements in the Carolina’s for the summer seasons, they have also presented shows in the Arizona areas for the same type of communities with a tremendous reception. This is the new Mark and Clark, and they have found a new niche with these wonderful people who continue to admire them and respond with 3 and 4 standing ovations at every performance.

They were contacted by the CBS organization in the Netherlands, to film a TV special for New Year’s Eve 2008. The reason being, that they were still in the top 100 of the charts over there with their hit CBS song: “The Worn Down Piano”, from their hit CBS album in the 70’s: “Double Take.” What will be next for “Mark and Clark?” You have to see them to believe them!!!!

Brass Transit

Q: What happens when eight in-demand musicians and singers gather together out of a common love for one of the most successful pop/rock groups of all time?

A: Brass Transit – a dynamic, crowd-pleasing, studio-tight powerhouse, and the world’s foremost Chicago tribute! An indication of the band’s authenticity and high-level musicianship: Chicago’s current ranks already include one longtime veteran of Brass Transit!

Brass Transit was formed in 2008, its accomplished, award- winning roster intent on paying tribute to the decades-long, multiplatinum songbook of Chicago.

Since 2008, Brass Transit has toured North America steadily, dazzling audiences with  flawless performances and spectacular attention to detail. Hits like, “Saturday In The Park,” “25 or 6 To 4,” “If You Leave Me Now,” “Feelin’ Stronger Every Day” and “You’re The Inspiration” have left crowds in awe, inspiring multiple standing ovations and comments like: “Spine-Tingling!” “Brought me back to my youth!” and “Perfect in every detail!”

Brass Transit goes far beyond just replicating the songs; they embody the music. They recently produced their first (self-titled) album, taking songs by other top rock artists from the seventies and recording them with horns in the Chicago style. The result is a fresh approach to some of the greatest hits of the era. They also recently scored their show for full symphony orchestra with original arrangements that are truly spellbinding.
